THE PARENTS AND CITIZENS ( P & C) ASSOCIATION OF
PEAKHURST WEST PUBLIC SCHOOL
We would like to extend an invitation to all parents/carers of Peakhurst West students to attend our P & C meetings on the first Tuesday of each month.
P & C meetings are informal and friendly. Parents and staff discuss matters regarding educational issues, the curriculum, P & C funding and expenditure, and upcoming events. Individual committees give brief reports and general issues of concern or interest are discussed. Decisions are also made regarding school improvements.
At the Annual General Meeting, all positions are declared vacant. Following is a short description of each position.
President (1)
The President shall chair all meetings and also be a member of the School Council.
Vice President (2)
In the President’s absence, one of the Vice Presidents shall chair the P & C meeting.
Secretary (1)
Attends meetings and records minutes. Deals with all incoming and outgoing correspondence and tables correspondence at the meeting.
Treasurer (1)
- Receives and keeps accurate financial records
- Obtains and keeps receipts for all monies paid from the P & C and issues receipts for all monies received.
- Banks all monies within 48 hours of receipt of such monies.
- No money shall be withdrawn from the said account unless authorised by the P & C Association.
- The treasurer shall present a Statement of Account showing receipts and expenditure during the current month and the current balance at each P & C meeting.
- All books, receipts vouchers and monthly statements shall be made available to the Auditors prior to the AGM and will be handed over on relinquishing office.
- Records are kept on Excel – it would be desirable to have skills in operating this system or similar.
Fundraising Committee (K-6 Club) (as many as are interested)
Coordinates and assists with the planning of fundraising and social activities for the P & C. Attends a short meeting approximately once a month to discuss term activities. Forwards all monies to the Treasurer.
Pool Co-operative (2)
Four members are elected to act as Directors on the Pool Co-op to represent the interests of the school. Such directors are to inform the P & C of all matters concerning the pool and seek direction from the P & C at all times.
Student Banking Co-ordinator (1)
Co-ordinates student banking and maintains a roster of parent helpers for student banking.
